Make the historic cluster the anchor
Seoul’s official guidebook groups Gwanghwamun, Seochon, Jongno, Insadong and Bukchon across the central historic core. A traveller spending several mornings at palaces, museums and traditional streets can use that geography instead of commuting into it repeatedly. The benefit is itinerary shape, not a promise that every attraction is walkable from every Jongno address.
Jongno is a district, not a hotel stop
A listing labelled Jongno may sit near Gwanghwamun, Jongno 3-ga, Dongmyo or another very different station environment. Check the actual address, subway lines, exits and walking route in a Korean map. Insadong can fit a calmer heritage-focused trip, while areas closer to Jongno 3-ga and Ikseon-dong can feel busier later. Read current property and street information rather than assigning one mood to the entire district.
Keep airport and late-night needs separate
A historic central base does not provide one universal airport transfer. Compare the exact hotel with current airport-bus stops, a rail connection plus final leg and a taxi fallback. If nightlife is a major priority, price the late return as part of the stay decision. Then compare live room, cancellation and accessibility details only inside the area that fits the itinerary.
