Search the chosen date and station pair on the official KORAIL service. Add every eligible one-way journey per traveller, then compare that total with the appropriate visitor pass. Local buses and taxis stay outside the pass calculation. A pass is not automatically better because the route contains three cities, and it does not create a seat on a sold-out train.
Place accommodation after the route
Choose a Seoul base that fits the first sightseeing blocks and airport path, then compare Gyeongju and Busan stays against their actual arrival points. Free cancellation can be more valuable than a small headline price difference while rail times remain unsettled.
