Where it works
VISITKOREA describes T-money and EZL as usable on public transportation nationwide and at affiliated merchants. This makes T-money useful after leaving Seoul, unlike a Seoul time pass. Individual intercity, express, airport and rail products can have their own ticket rules, so nationwide does not mean every service is a simple tap.
Buying and loading
Official visitor guidance lists major convenience stores and Seoul subway information centres, with a typical physical card price of ₩3,000≈£1.58–₩5,000≈£2.63. The 2026 international visitor guide says foreign-issued cards are not accepted for ordinary T-money purchase or top-up and labels that flow cash only.
Transfers and tapping
In Seoul, tap when boarding and leaving. The official fare system applies a combined transfer rule when the timing and route conditions are met, with distance charges after the base range. Reboarding the same route and missing the exit tap can change the charge.
