VISITKOREA names GS25, CU and 7-ELEVEN among nationwide convenience-store sellers and lists information centres in Seoul subway stations on Lines 1–8. Stock and card designs vary, so the reliable decision is to use the first convenient official seller rather than hunt for a specific design.
What it costs
The official traveller comparison gives a typical general-card price of ₩3,000≈£1.58–₩5,000≈£2.63. That is the card itself, not travel credit. Add enough stored value for your next few paid journey groups and retain a cash buffer for later top-ups.
Foreign-card warning
The KTO’s 2026 transport guide says ordinary T-money purchase and top-up do not accept foreign-issued credit cards and labels them cash only. This is why a nearly cashless Korea plan still needs a small KRW allocation for transport.
