Choose by job, not card colour
Use the Climate calculation only for covered Seoul transit. Use the WOWPASS decision for currency loading, retail payments, app controls and visitor convenience. Putting both in one price comparison without separating those jobs produces a misleading winner.
When both can make sense
A Seoul-heavy traveller could use Climate Card for eligible rides and WOWPASS for other payments, but that is a convenience choice rather than an automatic saving. A simpler setup may be Climate Card plus an existing international payment card and a small cash reserve.
Check the route exceptions
A Climate Card does not replace a nationwide transport card for excluded rail and bus services or travel beyond its range. From October 2026, official visitor guidance says the short-term product remains but is limited to Seoul, which makes a separate payment method more important on multi-city trips.
